Lake Arrowhead Chamber
of Commerce, January 2006
Do you remember all
those New Year's Eve parties where your friends and family sat
around staring at the TV set watching earnestly for the large
lighted ball to fall over Times Square?
Well, January has come
again, and with it a new commitment to put some money aside for
all of those long ignored repairs and upgrades to the house. Let's
do this! Take a picture of the exterior of your house, make a
list of things to repair and upgrade, and write a budget and time
line to take care of these projects. Now, put all of them on the
refrigerator door. I feel better already! From now on, every time
a friend, neighbor or relative comes over to visit, you can spend
hours talking about the details of each and every project. Not
only will you be reminded of your commitment to keep the house
in good condition, but you will be the envy of them all. They
can't possibly be as organized and smart about home repair as
you are. And who knows? You may even recruit a volunteer or two
to help out.
By the way, I never really have seen that ball fall at midnight.
It just seemed to fade away. Don't let your house suffer the same
fate.
Let's check up on each
other's progress in six months.
My family and I wish
you a happy and productive new year.
